  • Slowly move foot and ankle forward and backward
  • Repeat as instructed

Gastroc Stretch in Sitting

  • Sit with one leg extended and towel around ball of foot
  • Use towel to pull foot toward stomach until you feel a stretch
  • Keep back of thigh and calf in contact with surface
  • Repeat as instructed

Gastroc Stretch Standing

  • Stand facing wall
  • Place one foot in back making sure to keep your foot pointed forward
  • Slowly lean into wall until stretch is felt, making sure to keep your heel on the ground
  • Hold as instructed

Ankle Passive ROM: Dorsi-Flexion / Plantar-Flexion

  • Grasp lower leg just above the ankle with one hand
  • Grasp foot with opposite hand, using hand to flex and extend the foot and ankle
  • Repeat as instructed
